TSA Updates Marijuana Rules To Allow Hemp-Derived CBD On Flights

The TSA updated its cannabis policy recently to allow hemp-derived CBD products on flights! This comes five months after the signing of the 2018 Farm Bill federally legalizing hemp and declassifying it as a Schedule I drug.

TSA also clarified that marijuana/THC products are nationally prohibited on planes. Because the TSA is governed by Federal law, the legal local laws over marijuana don’t apply.

More and more agencies are developing broader regulatory guidelines for hemp based products with the FDA to hold a public hearing over issues at the end of May 2019.
