Senators Demand Action From FDA On CBD Guidelines

A group of U.S. Senators is pushing to get CBD regulation from the FDA to put an end to the heap of unregulated hemp products still infiltrating the marketplace.

Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) advised that “Consumers need and deserve guidance. So do manufacturers and hemp growers. That is why I am calling on the FDA to establish a regulatory framework as it has promised to do for these products.”

In a September 23 letter addressed to the FDA’s Acting Commissioner, Norman E. Sharpless, Blumenthal and his colleagues requested an update on the FDA’s CBD related adjustments no later than 90 days.

This is an exciting time for consumers and sellers alike who will benefit from a new standard of CBD products.
